RF System Engineer
ActsPower Technologies, Inc. is seeking for a Sr. RF System Engineer which will be responsible for providing the central technical solutions in the full range of the development of the RF systems supporting all aspects of wireless base stations through the feasibility design and trade off analysis; concept, preliminary, and detail design; and life cycle engineering. In addition, good experience in the direct management of engineering personnel level of general supervisory tasks and performance management is required.
Ph. D. or MSEE degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in wireless RF system developments, including successful completion of RF base station and repeater development projects from concept through manufacturing. Strong working knowledge of base station radio systems and repeater architectures and components specifications for major standards including GSM, CDMA IS-95, DCS, GPRS, EDGE, CDMA2000, W-CDMA, and WLAN standards. Hands on experience on simulations tools for system level and circuit level performance analysis/optimizations including ADS Ptolemy, and MATLAB simulink. Working knowledge of RF base station building blocks such as LNAs, PAs, mixers, PLL synthesizers, AGCs, filters, couplers, A/D and D/A Converters, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good ability to communicate clearly with systems, DSP, Control software, digital/analog hardware, test and manufacturing team members.
Antenna Design Engineer
Ph. D. or MSEE degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in design and implementation of antennas for wireless communications systems such as microstrip, cavity backed, slot, wire, multi-band, etc. Familiarity with wireless communication systems and knowledge of practical RF system considerations such as path loss calculation, cascade noise figure, and intercept point. Hands-on experience with high-frequency EM simulation tools such as HFSS and ADS. Hands-on experience performing S-parameter measurements, antenna pattern measurements using either far or near field techniques, and antenna gain measurements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good ability to communicate clearly with hardware, test and manufacturing team members.
DSP Firmware-Staff Engineer
ActsPower Technologies, Inc. has a career opportunity for a DSP firm-wave engineer. As a DSP Software Staff Engineer, we require the following requirements and responsibilities.
Ph. D. or MSEE degree with 5+ years experience developing, implementing, and testing high performance communications and DSP/FPGA products. Experience mapping communications algorithms to hardware and understanding of system design tradeoffs, as well as algorithm development skills. Knowledge of digital signal processing fundamentals and at least one year experience with fixed-point programming. Familiar with 2G and 3G CDMA standards. Strong programming skills with C or/C++. MATLAB experience is desirable. Strong understanding of H/W DSP structures, hardware, software co-design, as well as implementation experience. 5+ years working experience in embedded software development. Strong background in DSP and digital communication theory. A successful candidate should be a team player with strong communication skills, and possess a results oriented attitude.
RF Circuits Design Engineer
ActsPower Technologies, Inc. has a career opportunity for an RF circuits design engineer. In this challenging role, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your analytical skills and utilize your knowledge of RF circuits design while working on some of the most advanced projects in the wireless industry. You will participate in design and development of RF circuits for advanced wireless base stations with emphasis on state of the art repeaters equipped with interference cancellation systems. You will contribute to all phases of product design, specification and evaluation; from conceptual and architectural development, to analysis, simulation, layout and verification, testing and analysis of the product.
MSEE degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in discrete component RF circuit design and development of components such as LNAs, PAs, mixers, PLL synthesizers, AGCs, filters, couplers, A/D and D/A Converters, etc. Working knowledge of wireless base station and repeater architectures and components specifications for major standards including GSM, CDMA2000, W-CDMA, and WLAN standards.
